Study Skills for Grade 6 Students

The Centre for Literacy is pleased to offer a Study Skills Workshop for Students in Grade 6!

Grade 6 is a time of transition for many students. It is the final year of Elementary School and from the start, students are getting reading for the transition to Junior High. At the request of students, parents and teachers, the Centre is pleased to offer a Study Skills Seminar for students in Grade 6. The purpose of this seminar is to help Grade 6 students build solid study skills to enable them to make the transition to Junior High and be as successful as possible.

Date: Tuesday, October 18th from 7 to 8:30 pm

Cost: $40 plus GST. There will be a 20% hold back for any cancellations.

Registration: Call to register at 780-434-3698. Payment can be taken over the phone or added to existing client’s invoices.

 Workshop Descriptions

This seminar is about studying so it sticks! The secret to doing well at school is working smarter, not harder. In this session, strategies will be provided on how to:

  • Uncover and capitalize on your own learning style
  • Manage time like a pro
  • Get and stay organized
  • Create a plan to stay on top of work
  • Take notes that make sense (to you at least!)
  • Remember what you have studied
  • Study for exams
  • Figure out what is important to study


All students will be provided with a take away booklet.
