The Centre for Literacy is pleased to offer new programs to support students and professionals.
- Study Skills and Exam Strategies (Junior High, Senior High, Post Secondary): We will be continuing to offer our highly popular Study Skills and Exam Strategies Sessions for Junior and Senior High School Students. Please click on the link to find out when these sessions will be offered.
- New! Study Skills for Students in Grade 6: Grade 6 is a time of transition for many students. It is the final year of Elementary School and from the start, students are getting reading for the transition to Junior High. At the request of students, parents and teachers, the Centre is pleased to offer a Study Skills Seminar for students in Grade 6. The purpose of this seminar is to help Grade 6 students build solid study skills to enable them to make the transition to Junior High and be as successful as possible.
- Building Executive Function Skills: Using the evidence based Unstuck and On Target Curriculum, this ten session series is for students from 8 to 11 years. Its purpose is to improve executive function skills and increase flexibility. This program will include a pre and post session evaluation and will be held on Saturdays at 11 am beginning September 24th.
- Continuing Professional Development Sessions. The Centre for Literacy has a history of providing exceptional professional development to its staff. As of 2016-17, it is now opening up its PD sessions to professionals in our community.
