Yvonne has been working with students with learning disabilities since 1976. She has an undergraduate degree in English Literature in addition to a Baccalaureate Degree and Masters Degree in Special Education. She has worked in a number of schools, clinics and universities. Her work has crossed the international front, from Zimbabwe, England, South Africa and finally, to Canada. She became the owner of the Centre for Literacy in 1998. Under her guidance, the Centre has evolved to become a critical service in the Edmonton area.
Yvonne takes an active role in teaching many students. She is also the individual who works with families considering the Centre and is instrumental in helping to select an effective program of study to meet a child’s unique needs. She is certified to complete a number of different standardized tests that are useful in helping to determine a student’s learning profile.
